Hornbill Festival of Nagaland

The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 19th Hornbill Festival of Nagaland at Naga Heritage Village Kisama on December 1, 2018. The Hornbill Festival is one of the largest celebrations of the indigenous warrior tribes of Nagaland. On the inaugural day, the visitors were treated with cultural performances from across the country including Odisha, Assam, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir.

221 metre tall Statue of Lord Ram in Ayodhya

The Uttar Pradesh government  has given the go ahead for the construction of a statue of Lord Ram on the banks of the Saryu river in Ayodhya, on November 26, 2018. The statue will outdo the 182-meter-tall statue of Sardar Patel in Gujarat, as part of the ‘Navya Ayodhya’ scheme of the UP Tourism Department to develop the town as a tourist hub.
