PV Sindhu Wins Gold At BWF World Tour Finals 2018

PV Sindhu became the first Indian to win a gold medal at the year-ending tournament on December 16, 2018. She won her maiden gold medal of 2018 by defeating Nozomi Okuhara of Japan 21-19, 21-17 in the women's singles final of BWF World Tour Finals 2018 at Guangzhou, China. Sameer Verma reached the semifinal in his maiden appearance at the World Tour Finals but lost to Shi Yuqi of China 21-12, 20-22, 17-21 in the men's singles semifinals.


ITF World Champions 2018

The ITF announced the 2018 ITF World Champions on December 13, 2018. Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Romania’s Simona Halep have been named. Djokovic receives the honour for the sixth time, while it is the first year Halep has been recognised.


Aga Khan Gold Cup Tournament

Steel Authority of India's Hockey Academy beat Army XI Danapur 2-1 in its maiden attempt and won the All India Aga Khan Gold Cup hockey tournament. The 115th tournament was held at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Pune from December 1 to 9, 2018.

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli has become the first Indian captain to win a Test in South Africa, England and Australia. India defeated Australia by 31 runs in the First Test Match of the Four Match Test Series at Adelaide on December 10, 2018. India has won 25 Tests out of 43 in Kohli’s Captaincy.
