Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement Amendment signed by India and Singapore

India and Singapore signed the Second Protocol amending the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) to boost bilateral trade between the two countries. It was signed in New Delhi on August 24, 2018, by Rajneesh, Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry; and Francis Chong, Senior Director of the Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Feminist Foreign Policy Launched in Sweden

Sweden released a handbook of its "Feminist Foreign Policy" for rights groups and foreign governments, on August 23, 2018. The manual was published on the Swedish government's website, showcasing lessons from the nation's flagship approach to promote women's rights globally. It has been led by Sweden’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom, since its inception in 2014.

India, China Working to Avoid Another Doklam

India and China decided to work out a new bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Defence Exchanges and Cooperation on August 23, 2018. This decision taken during a meeting between Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her Chinese counterpart, General Wei Fenghe, will replace the MoU signed in 2006. This comes exactly a year after the 73-day military stand-off at Doklam.

Families Separated in the Korean War to Reunite

Around 180 families were torn apart by the 1950-53 Korean War. They will be temporarily reunited after 65 years, in North Korea starting from August 20, 2018.
