The Gatwick airport is the world's second busiest single-runway airport. 50.01% stake has been bought by the French construction company Vinci SA for $3.7 billion. Gatwick is the largest airport in Vinci’s global network from Brazil to Sweden.

3D Model of Cancer for Better Understanding

Scientists in Cancer Research U.K. Cambridge Institute(CRUK) have built a Virtual Reality (VR) 3D model of cancer. The virtual tumour will allow the cancer cells to be studied in detail from all angles. This project is part of CRUK's Grand Challenge Awards.


Google Has a New Competitor

China launched its first communication satellite to provide broadband internet services worldwide on December 22, 2018. The satellite was launched from a Long March 11 carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in north-western China.

Russia Tests Hypersonic Missile

Russia completed successful testing of a hypersonic missile on December 26, 2018. The test was carried out in far eastern Kamchatka and the missile 'Avangard' will be ready for use from 2019. Putin has laid out plans to develop missiles banned under the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) if the U.S. abandons it.


Iran Holds Meeting with Afghan Taliban
