AFCAT Revision Tips

With the exam just a few days away, this is the time, you should start revision of the syllabus. This is not the time to start a new topic as it will just increase your confusion. Try to revise complete AFCAT exam syllabus by going through the notes, solving as many mock tests as you can and focusing on the most important topics.

Here are some expert tips for the Air Force Exam syllabus revision:

Understand AFCAT Exam Pattern

There will be a total of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) from General Awareness, Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability in English, and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test subjects in AFCAT 2019. Each question carries 3 marks for correct answer and one negative mark for the wrong answer. The exam will be of three hours' duration. Candidates who apply for Tech positions also need to appear for EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) for which they will get additional 45 minutes.

Cover complete syllabus

Skipping any topic might create a huge risk of losing marks. Try to cover complete AFCAT exam syllabus as any question can come from any part of the syllabus.

Follow a proper schedule

Yes, you need a proper schedule and time-management for revision as well. Make a list of well-prepared, average and less prepared topics. It will help you decide and devote time to the most important topics. Once you know the topics that need more time and the ones that can be revised quickly, you will be able to manage your time well.

Solve mock tests and previous year papers

This is the time to check your AFCAT preparation level. Online mock tests by reliable websites like Eduwhere and previous year question papers make a great choice. Mock tests by expert teachers on the basis of recent trends and the detailed performance analysis reports, help you improve your preparation for the final exam.

Stay updated with the current affairs

Even though this is the final revision time, you should not stop reading and watching the news for the latest updates. Keep reading the newspapers. If you want to utilize your time well, you can also download news apps on your mobile phones and can get the updates immediately. As the General Knowledge questions asked in AFCAT are a bit tricky, you need to try your level best to score high in this section.

Focus on complete paper than a specific section

When solving mock tests, try to focus on the complete paper than just a specific section. Make a plan where you can cover all the sections instead of separating time for each section. Also, be careful about the negative marking. Don't play a luck game; answer only when you are completely sure.

Strengthen psychological grounding:

The base of the Air Force Exam is logical reasoning. To score well in the exam, you should work on your psychological grounding. Usually, candidates mess up the reasoning section due to their nervousness and low confidence. Concentrate on your reasoning part from the beginning and make it strong by the time you sit for the final exam.

You must keep these simple and helpful revision tips in the mind to give your best shot in the final exam. Though the complete preparation journey is important, the final revision plays a major role in your performance in the exam. So, stay confident, try to remember everything you learnt for the exam and come out with the flying colours in AFCAT 2019.
