Counselling Process

The students got to register themselves on the official website of the consortium of NLUs to participate in the counseling process. The counseling process consists of the subsequent steps:

1. Publication of the primary Merit List

The conducting authority will release a special merit list for every National Law University as per the ranks and merit of the scholars. The candidates can check the stop of every NLU and participate accordingly.

2. Fee Payment

The candidates who have had their names on the primary list need to confirm their seats by making a fee payment of INR 50,000 within the required period. Once this step is completed, the candidates got to follow the below-given steps:

Lock Option: The aspirants can lock the seats which are allotted to them. Once the seat is locked, the candidate won’t be considered in the other lists, which seats will be frozen for the candidate.

Upgrade: If the aspirant isn’t satisfied with the allotment of seats, they may request an upward shifting. If there are vacant seats for the candidate, an upgrade within the seat will be made on the following list.

3. Publication of the Second List

After the preliminary list, the conducting authority will release the following list for the second round of the allocation process. Alongside this, another list will be released where the waitlisted candidates are going to be named. These aspirants will get a seat if any of them are left vacant after the seat-locking process. These candidates, too, like other ones, need to pay the fee. However, the candidates who have frozen their seats can withdraw from this round. If a candidate wishes to quit the admission process, they will need to bear a fee of INR 10,000 from the quantity of INR 50,000, which they need to pay earlier. Just in case if a candidate withdraws their admission after the given duration, they’re not going to be responsible for any refund.
