CTET 2020 Examination: Important Details

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted for the recruitment of candidates all over the country for teaching profile. The selected candidates will be appointed as teachers at Primary and Upper Primary level schools. The CTET examination is conducted twice every year in the months of July and December.
The exam date for CTET 2020 July session is declared. The CTET examination will be conducted on 5 July 2020.
The CTET examination is divided into 2 papers viz. Paper 1 and Paper 2. The candidates who wish to build a career in teaching class 1-5 can take Paper 1. The Paper 2 examination is conducted for class 6-8. If you wish to teach students from class 1-8, you need to appear for Paper 1 & Paper 2 both. The CTET examination will be conducted in 20 languages in 112 countries all over the country.
The CTET 2020 application forms are available from January 24, 2020 at the official site ctet.nic.in The last day to apply for the same is February 24, 2020.

CTET 2020 Eligibility for Paper 1
A candidate who has successfully completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% marks and has either cleared or appearing in final year exam of 2 yr Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
A candidate who has successfully completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 45% marks and has either cleared or appearing in final year exam of 2 yr Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with NCTE(Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
A candidate who has successfully completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks with 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education
OR
A candidate who has successfully completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks with a pass certificate of 2 yr Diploma in Special Education.
OR
Graduation degree in relevant discipline with a certificate of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.
CTET 2020 Application Fee
Candidates can choose to apply for either of the papers or get enrolled for both if they wish to teach class 1-8 students.

CTET 2020 Examination Pattern
All the candidates applying for the CTET examination should be aware of the examination pattern and the marking system. The CTET 2020 Tier I exam will be conducted in online mode. The exam will be held for a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. There will be no negative marking for the examination and 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
